“Artvin Night” added a touch of color to Nilüfer Ramadan Street

The Artvin Night event held on Ramadan Street by the Nilüfer Municipality highlighted unity and cultural solidarity amid high attendance and a variety of concerts and activities.

The Ramadan Street events, traditionally organized by Nilüfer Municipality, hosted a special evening this time that brought Artvin’s cultural richness to Bursa. Organized with the support of the Bursa Artvin Foundation, the program brought the unique atmosphere of the Black Sea and Artvin’s deep-rooted culture to life in Nilüfer. The event, which saw a high turnout, offered participants an unforgettable experience, featuring both emotional and joyful moments. Reflecting the spirit of sharing and coming together during the month of Ramadan, Ramadan Street continued to be enlivened by events organized by various hometown associations, while the Artvin Gathering held a special place among these gatherings. The evening, which brought together Artvin natives living in Bursa, went beyond being merely a cultural event to foster a strong sense of belonging and solidarity.

One of the most meaningful moments of the program was the celebration of the 104th anniversary of Artvin’s liberation from enemy occupation. During this special evening, marked by a shared sense of historical pride, the struggles and achievements of the past were once again remembered, and participants united around a shared consciousness. Prior to the event, colorful whistles distributed to participants by the AKUT Search and Rescue Association to raise earthquake awareness stood out as both eye-catching and educational details.

The Artvin Night, held at Republic Square in front of the Nilüfer Municipality Community Center, was attended by many prominent figures from Bursa’s political and social life. CHP Bursa Provincial Chairman Nihat Yeşiltaş, Nilüfer Mayor Şadi Özdemir and his wife Nuray Özdemir, deputy mayors, Bursa Artvin Foundation Chairman Adnan Demirci, Artvin Caucasus Associations Federation Chairman Özgür Gümüş, Artvin Batum Ahıska Confederation Chairman Rıdvan Kılıçoğlu, ARSİYAD Chairman Erdinç Acar, and numerous citizens gathered for this meaningful evening.

Speaking at the event, Nilüfer Mayor Şadi Özdemir stated that their goal was to bring citizens together through activities organized throughout the month of Ramadan. Özdemir said, “We are preparing programs with culturally rich content where everyone living in Nilüfer can have a good time. The fact that this evening coincides with the anniversary of Artvin’s liberation adds a special significance to the event.”

Özdemir also drew attention to Turkey’s reality of earthquakes, emphasizing the importance of raising public awareness during Earthquake Awareness Week (March 1–7). He noted that the municipality continues its efforts toward the goal of building resilient cities. He highlighted that the informational activities and awareness campaigns conducted in this context are of vital importance to society.

Adnan Demirci, President of the Bursa Artvin Foundation, thanked Nilüfer Municipality in his speech, noting that such events both strengthen cultural ties and reinforce social unity. Demirci expressed the hope that these gatherings would become a tradition and continue every year with the same enthusiasm and participation.

Following the speeches, the beloved artist Bayar Şahin took the stage and enriched the evening with his musical performances. As the audience enjoyed the Black Sea melodies, the excitement reached its peak throughout the concert. The Artvin Folk Dances troupe, which took the stage at the end of the evening, received a standing ovation from the audience for their performance. The show, which blended traditional motifs with a modern stage design, added a visual feast to the evening, making the event unforgettable.
