Bursa Artvin Foundation’s Visit to Gemlik

Bursa Artvin Foundation’s Visit to Gemlik

The management of the Bursa Artvin Foundation strengthened its cooperation with local institutions and representatives through visits conducted in Gemlik.

The Bursa Artvin Foundation, one of Bursa’s active and influential civil society organizations, is continuing the outreach and visit programs it launched during its new administrative term without interruption. Acting with the aim of strengthening institutional partnerships and establishing closer ties with local governments and the city’s dynamics, the foundation’s management carried out a comprehensive visit program in Gemlik as part of these efforts. This intensive program, which could be described as the “Gemlik outreach,” presented a notable picture in terms of both content and participation.

The foundation delegation, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Adnan Demirci, made its first stop in Gemlik at the Gemlik Municipality. The foundation executives were welcomed there by Gemlik Mayor Şükrü Deviren. During the meeting, which took place in a warm and constructive atmosphere, the importance of cooperation between local government and civil society organizations was emphasized, and ideas were exchanged regarding joint projects that could contribute to Gemlik’s social, cultural, and economic development. The visit concluded with mutual messages of goodwill and hopes for continued cooperation.

Following the municipal visit, the Bursa Artvin Foundation management continued its program without pause, expanding its contacts by meeting with institutions and individuals representing various sectors of Gemlik. In this context, during meetings with İsmail Beki, President of the Gemlik Chamber of Tradesmen and Artisans, and Abdullah İnce, President of the Gemlik Chamber of Bus and Minibus Operators, topics such as the district’s commercial structure, the current situation of local businesses, and issues related to the transportation sector were discussed. These meetings, shaped by mutual exchanges of views, provided an important platform for gauging the pulse of the local economy.

Visits conducted with representatives of political parties were also among the program’s notable highlights. During meetings with Emrah Keskinden, Chairman of the MHP Gemlik District Branch; Servet Pehlivanoğlu, Chairman of the CHP Gemlik District Branch; and Mehmet Taşer, Chairman of the AK Party Gemlik District Branch, assessments were made regarding the district’s current issues, local governance processes, and societal expectations. These interactions, where different political viewpoints converged on common ground, presented a meaningful picture in terms of strengthening the culture of dialogue and consensus.

The Foundation’s management also conducted significant visits in the fields of civil society and security. During the meeting with Feyziye Association President Osman Kayalp, association activities and social contributions were discussed, while the visit with Gemlik District Police Chief Mustafa Kılıç involved an exchange of information regarding the district’s security structure and efforts to maintain social peace. The visit to İbrahim Onsekiz, conducted as part of the program, also stood out as one of the key engagements aimed at strengthening local ties.

This comprehensive visit program once again demonstrated that the Bursa Artvin Foundation does not limit itself to solidarity among fellow citizens, but operates with a vision aimed at forging strong ties with all the dynamics of the city where it is based. These visits, which aim to enhance inter-institutional communication, foster collective wisdom, and contribute to local development, were viewed as steps that further solidify the foundation’s active role throughout Bursa.
