Prominent civil society organizations active in Bursa came together for a meaningful event aimed at fostering a culture of social unity and solidarity. Organized under the leadership of Bursa ARSİYAD, the Artvin Foundation, and the Artvin Caucasian Associations Federation, and hosted by the Karaağaç Neighborhood, the Aşure Day program stood out as an important event where both traditional values were upheld and diverse segments of society came together.
Held on the 10th day of the month of Muharrem—a day symbolizing sharing, abundance, and the spirit of unity—the event brought together many prominent figures from Bursa’s social and political life under one roof. The program, attended by representatives of civil society organizations, local officials, political figures, and numerous citizens, fostered a strong atmosphere of solidarity. Throughout the event, aşure prepared in large pots was served to participants, keeping the tradition of sharing alive. In keeping with the significance of this special day, the richness created by the coming together of differences was emphasized, while the importance of the community uniting around shared values was once again highlighted. Participants experienced the joy of coming together not only around a shared meal but also around a shared sense of culture and history.
Sema Pamukçular, the Neighborhood Head of Karaağaç, who hosted the event, stated in her remarks that they were deeply pleased to keep this meaningful tradition alive in their neighborhood. Pamukçular emphasized that Ashura Day is not merely a food-sharing event, but an important cultural heritage that strengthens social bonds and builds bridges of goodwill among people.
